Al and Valerie Bishop have been providing transportation for the New England   Organ Bank for over 25 years; during this time their planes have been on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Al and Valerie have provided “best scenarios” weather and window of opportunity for successful transfers of vital life saving organ transplants throughout New England, New York and Bermuda. The staff and   surgeons are indebted to Al and Valerie for their generosity and for additionally providing food and beverage to them during these stressful times.

A prime example of the Bishop’s passion for helping those in need occurred two   years ago, and involved the family of a child whose last wish was to see the White House. Without hesitation, and with no fanfare, Al and Valerie granted that child his wish, put a smile on his face and offered his family a moment of happiness during   their traumatic ordeal.

Al and Valerie have also shown their generosity and kindness to the children of the victims of Hurricane Katrina by flying a planeload of books in backpacks to New Orleans. This occurred with a little help from daughter Rebecca during a community service project.

Al and Valerie are the parents of four children: daughter Rebecca and sons Joshua, Michael and Sean. Al and Valerie’s quiet, understated style has allowed them to serve   so many special causes over the years without calling attention to themselves. They  have done so many good deeds without ever seeking headlines.
